On popular demand – this is my post on what to do if you have just 1 day in Bruges.

One line answer- Just walk around in this fairyland with a decent camera and enjoy beer, local chocolate and fries.    

    
My recommendations: 

Do taste the local beers at restaurants and breweries but the beer museum is not such a great idea. It’s a hoax as they don’t show how they make beer.

Do walk up to the bell tower just for the experience. The sweeping views of the city from the top are spectacular. 

Minnewater park is one of the best sights in this town so don’t miss it.

The 30 min tourist boat ride is quite fun and a great way to know about the major monuments. 

Do walk around and get lost in the lanes of the town. The bell tower will always guide you back to the market square. So you don’t have to worry even if you don’t have a map or run out of charge on your phone. 

The local chocolatries should be the only place where you buy chocolates. Taste various chocolate flavours before you make a choice.
