We spent day 2 of Paris in Versailles. If you need to know how to get there please refer to this absolutely great and idiot-proof blog page that we came across: http://mikestravelguide.com/the-easiest-and-cheapest-way-to-get-from-paris-to-versailles/
We left for Versailles at about 10 am and were there by 11:30 am.
We did the gardens first followed by the palace and then the estate.
One very important thing to note about the gardens is that the fountains are turned on only for a few days of the week and only for certain time slots. So please research before you go. My recommendation is to prioritize the gardens – these are the most massive and beautiful palace gardens I’ve ever come across.
The palace too to lovely and has some beautiful paintings. Although you will see much better ones in other palaces in Europe.
When we got back from Verisalles to Paris it was quite late so we went straight to dinner. We were recommended a restaurant called Chez Marianne by a friend and decided to check it out … and I’m so glad we did!
I had the most amazing hummus and smoked beaf of my life! If you like Lebanise food then you must visit this place in Paris. It’s Chez Marianne – in the old Jewish quarter in Marais. It’s quite big so you can’t miss it. The house red wine was also great.
Can’t wait to explore more tomorrow! Loving ❤️ Paris!!
