Writing my other post on Maldives a few hours ago triggered some memories from my last Eurotrip that had something to do with a romantic lagoon city too… so here comes my short memoir on Venice…
Who says you fall in love only once? When I visited Venice for the second time in 2014 I fell in love head over heels for the second time and who wouldn’t? As you would know, Venice, renowned for the beauty of its romantic European setting, is an Italian city that comprises of 117 small islands separated by canals and linked by bridges.
If you haven’t visited yet, you must have at least seen this picturesque city in many hollywood movies such as ‘The tourist’ and ‘Chasing Liberty’, etc.
The city has a lot to offer in terms of gondola rides, sight seeing, fine dining, great wines, romantic walks, art and history. Just being there, walking around, and sipping espresso coffees in the day and Grappa at night makes you fall in love with this beautiful city. Here is my little attempt to bring alive this city and its magical postcard beauty.
Just so you know, Venice is very well connected to the rest of the world. They have an International Airport and a train station for travel within Europe. You can take a water bus/ water taxi from there to your hotel area.
